E Squared C Windows 7 Lunch and Learn a Huge Success
E Squared C held a Windows 7 Lunch and Learn on December 10, 2009. At this event, we provided information about the new Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. There was plenty for the attendees to take in at the event. We had four computers running Windows 7 set up and ready for test drives. As the attendees sat in front of the computers, we heard comments like "Wow it is so fast" "This is pretty easy". One attendee timed the reboot cycle; 50 seconds from clicking restart to entering the password.
During the event we held a question session called stump the host. Here, attendees were encouraged to ask any technology questions they could think of. Most of the questions centered around Windows 7 and the upgrade process. At the end of the event we gave away door prizes that included an HP laptop, Windows 7 software, and a USB hard drive.
E Squared C would like to thank all those that attended the event and also thank Microsoft for their support in the event. We would like to continue the Lunch and Learn series. If you have an idea for a topic that you would like to see at an event, send us an email info@esquaredc.com.
E Squared C Tests Small Business Server in Secrecy
August 15, 2008 - Since September 2007, E Squared C and Carson Valley Golf Course have participated in a Microsoft Technology Adoption Program (TAP) for the next version of Small Business Server. During the TAP, we where under NDA with Microsoft and could not discuss the project outside of E Squared C. Over the last year we assisted the SBS development team with issue resolution, feature definition and end user usability.
Now that Small Business Server 2008 is released to public beta testers, we can finally talk about our experience. E Squared C implemented SBS 2008 in production during December 2007. SBS 2008 is stable, user friendly, and offers much needed network management tools. Having participated in the TAP gives us confidence in the new SBS 2008 and we are recommending to all of our clients that they migrate to the new server. Small Business Server 2008 is a rock solid server for companies with fewer that 75 employees.
